Assignment 11: Proposal for Photoshop Research
My area of interest for photography is mainly photographing nature & sometimes people. With nature, I enjoy taking close-up shots with a macro setting. These photographs are often of small objects, such as raindrops or flowers. After I graduate, I plan to go to university at either UBCO or Emily Carr in Vancouver, and then from there on I plan to become a psychologist and do other things on the side, such as photography & art. I would really like to learn more about taking portraits and other types of photography, because I think that would be a good job to do on the side. I also want to learn more about Photoshop and how to make images look sharper. I like to give pictures an artistic look by editing them with certain effects, or lowering the saturation to make them look somewhat faded. I also think it would be cool to learn more about animation, and creating fictional characters through Photoshop. My goal is to learn how to create these images using a regular photograph, and also to learn how to apply "ghostly" effects. By the end of the year, I want to be able to use Photoshop to do both of these things.

Assignment 7: Jim Brandenburg
Jim Brandenburg is a photographer who photographs outdoor landscapes and wildlife. He often uses a wide-angle lens for shooting landscapes, and for portraits or wildlife he usually uses a Nikon digital camera because he likes how easy it is to switch the shutter speed and the ISO. Jim Brandenburg has also worked with the National Geographic magazine for over 30 years. He likes to have a natural "organic" look in his photographs.
